Countme in on this issue. Same scenario. The phone is about a year old. I dropped it on blacktop about 6 months ago and the bottom of the screen cracked a bit, but the phone was still usable. Now suddenly about a week or two ago, I could not longer tap the top half-inch of the screen - mainly noticed this because I couldn't pull down the notif Withyour phone on, press and hold the Power button and Volume Down button for 10+ seconds. Keep holding them until the Samsung Galaxy logo appears. When the device begins turning on, press and hold the Volume Down button. Keep holding the button until you see "Safe mode" at the bottom of the screen.
NothingI press in the middle section of the screen seems to work. I can sometimes hit the three touch buttons on the bottom, but the only way to get the middle section working again, is to reset the device. I thought maybe some app overlay is causing it to have issues. Like a Messenger Chathead or something but I can't seem to pinpoint when
TurnOFF the device. Press and hold your device's Power button till the model name screen. When the SAMSUNG logo appears on the screen, release the Power key. Immediately after releasing the Power key, press and hold the Volume down key. Continue to hold the Volume down key until the device finishes restarting. Thetouch screen stopped working on an active 2 watch. I have rebooted and reset it several times but it still does not work, when I try to start into recovery mode it just leads to a screen that says 'resetting' and then boots like normal and shows no recovery settings.
